As many of you may know I've been pretty busy as of late. But after getting an infected foot I had a bit of free time. I had a plan to do this video since TF2 first came out but I wanted to wait for Source Filmmaker to go official. 130 hours in SFM and Hammer later, here it is. As my foot healed I was getting less and less time to work on it. So I got it to a point where I was happy and just shut it down. It has it's flaws but it was a case of release now or never.
The animation work i did is pretty janky, i'm still learning a lot of this.
Most of it is kinect mo cap of myself and Zach. I barely touched it afterwards for clean up, mostly only the head and hands.

I feel like this perfectly encapsulates how actual opposing engineers feel about each other. They almost never actually confront each other so they almost feel like being friendly to each other, then they just scream at their team behind the scenes to screw with the other one.

It's been 6 years since I saw this tf2 SFM video. I remember how realistic it looked. Back when gmod videos were popular, this was a game changer. Gotta say, the editing aged really well.

Engie is the nice uncle who is oddly scary whenever he find out something that you think could make him absolutely angry, but when you meet him during it, he's weirdly calm, which is most scary.

I love this kind of SFM. No dialogue or gimmicks or anything, but everyone oozes charisma and their characters come across beautifully. It takes skill to manage that, and you’ve done superbly!
It really does feel like the old Spy vs Spy comics from MAD, or old rival cartoons in general where its 2 guys at each others throats and it just gets more outlandish.

Can I just say this song is utterly perfect for this. I think it's a player in what makes this sfm so timeless. But man, the quality of this animation ages like wine. Even to this day it holds up very well.

no, no i have done it, not intentionally, i was trying to put a teleporter under the base but instead ended up airblasted at the entrance to the red base, so i kinda just waltzed through holding the teleporter... i got the brief case to the bridge before getting mowed down by a wave of newly respawned players tho

Listen he got no hats on him. Making him an f2p and f2p have special powers that make everyone ignore them which allows them to flank better than a Scout with 1000 hours

I find it really cool how there's not one line of dialogue to speak of and yet it still is funny and you can still tell what's going on.
I love how disguised spy still acts like a spy, like a fencer; he looks just perfect as himself and absolutely not as an Engi.

SFM has come a long way, but even in the beginning, there was heart put into it.
This was one of the first tf2 sfms I watched growing up and these got me to actually play the game when I was younger and here I am now still playing a decade later... Thank you man

I love this SFM because the Merc's movement feels so realistic, not the over-exxagerated swaying like I see in most other SFMs. I like all SFM's but this is one of my favorites from the motion alone.
I know I'm a year late but the reason why is most of the animations is Mocap.
