Christian music star comes out... and she's hot

The Second-Hottest Man in my Mother's Basement
No one else has done it yet? Ok, I will...

*ahem*

Why can't she just position herself as an Episcopalian artist? That sect of Christianity is tolerant of homosexuality; it has women ministers in this country, right? :dunno:

If she has any real talent she'll make it, and probably will be a better artist in the longrun. Being a "christian artist" means basically putting a huge pair of shackles on one's creativity...

So because she is gay, and loves other women, she has to end her carreer and be thrown out of her community?

So her Christian God loves all people except for people that happen to love other people from the same sex? So that god loves every man or woman, except when two of them like each other but happen to be men, or women. I'm trying to get it....

no, I failed, still don't get it:
Do not kill, except when the one you are killing happens to have another faith.
Do not judge, except when you feel that your judgment is the same as God, then it's o.k.
Love is the foundation, except when two people that have nothing to do with you, are in love and happen to be of the same sex.

I truly hate people that judge other people, based on their faith or believes. When they get sick, they tell you that God works in mysterious ways and no man can ever understand. But they do know how god feels about gay's, divorce etc...

I think people are missing the point of what Jesus was trying to say: he was surrounded by simple people, telling them never to judge someone. He forgave every sin, turned the other cheeck. He traveled with people that were considerd outcasts of their socitiy, hookers, taxcollectors (don't know the English word) etc.

But still people look up to the pope, living in a palace. But still people disrupt a buriel. But still people kill other people. In the name of their faith...

I think it has more to do with "hate the sin, love the sinner." :D

I can't really bash the genre, because at least their singers actually sing. But other than Amy Grant's duet with Peter Cetera (which was secular) I don't listen to them.

This Knapp lady looks hot but expecting hard-core Christians to embrace her lifestyle is like expecting hard-core leftists to embrace a singer with conservative values.

If you Google images of her, she is far from "hot." Definitely looks like a rug muncher (almost KD Lang'ish).

Actually, as long as their music is good, I don't care about their political or religious POV. I don't know how other people think about it, though... :dunno:

I go to church and I never heard of her.

You probably never heard of her within Christian circles because she is genuinely talented in her musicality, not to mention her beautiful vocals. She was never popularized in the Christian music circuit because of that I think; namely, because she didn't desecrate the artistry behind music making, as do most Christian artists who regurgitate the Psalms with mediocre music.

I hope this inspires more self-loathing in the closet individuals to learn to accept their homosexuality and come out of the closet as well because suppressing their homosexuality does more harm than good

Yeah, because "self-loathing" of any kind is great!
